III - Final Course

The third year of the professional training concentrates on the individual possibilities and distinctive approaches of each of the students when creating a painting.

Watercolour painting

Thus far most of the attention has been paid to covering materials like acrylic and oil paint. This course will concentrate on watercolour painting as a specialism.

Drawing from a model

The programme will be supplemented by a half day of drawing/painting from a model. The aim is to provide training rather than teaching. The emphasis will be on expression rather than on technical construction (that is assumed to have been mastered)

Atmospheric painting

One of the means of exchange in a painting is atmosphere. This depth can be created in various ways, including air and light types, by omission, etc.

Painting from the imagination

Juane Xue

Thus far, the painting has almost always been observational. It is time now to do the opposite, to study Classical painting created from the imagination.

Cultural debate
Cultural history with reference to the context or inspiration of the artist.

Eric Bos

The development of an artistic frame of reference by means of a number of cultural debates concerning the relationship between visual arts and religion, literature, film, theatre and music, etc.

Workshop mural painting

An introduction in fresco technique by Piet Brekers and an excursion along some wall paintings of Matthijs Röling with Matthijs Röling and his assistant Anouk Martijn.

An introduction in types of wall-painting and practical ins and outs by Helen & Jille van der Veen
