I - Elementry course

The first, ‘elementary’ year concentrates on mastery of the tools of visual art, on the principles, nay the abstract foundations of the craft.

First year
This year is divided into two blocks. Each practical block is rounded off with a collective discussion of the work. The week is divided into three half days of practical work and one half day of theory. Fridays and Saturdays are reserved for supplementary courses.

The theoretical material covers introductions to perspective (atmospheric and geometric), to the rules of thumb when suggesting plasticity and to composition tips. The practical lessons deal with studying tone, the separation and distribution of light-dark and the application of three-dimensionality.

Composition, colour & expression
