Classical Painting

The Klassieke Academie for painting consists of a three-year Specialized Training, with the opportunity to then follow a one or two-year Master Training.
In order to prepare candidates for the stringent entry requirements, a Basic Training is offered in advance.

This Basic Training consists of a half-day a week of drawing from a model, including a course with an overview of human anatomy plus discussions of work students have done at home (their own work and assignments).

Tom S. Hageman

The lessons are given by Tom S. Hageman at the premises of the Klassieke Academie, Akerkhof 43c in Groningen.

Every year, no more than two groups of 18 students are admitted. These lessons are scheduled for Mondays.
Group 1: in the morning from 9.30 a.m. – 12 noon
Group 2: in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.

The Basic Training is offered in the period from September to June in two blocks, one in the autumn and one the following spring. There is a collective work discussion between the two blocks. The course will not clash with the regular school holidays.

The course fee is € 496.- to be paid to Giro Account 9672271 in the name of Klassieke Academie Groningen. Registration takes place on receipt of the course fee.
